Update: Gregory Salcido, anti-military teacher refuses to resign

Just a quick update and video for you this morning, since I am not actually in the office.  From CBS News:

City Council members in a Los Angeles suburb passed a resolution Tuesday night condemning and asking for the resignation of one of their colleagues who in his work as a school teacher called members of the U.S. military "the lowest of our low." "God bless America!" one Pico Rivera councilman shouted as the vote passed.

But Councilman Gregory Salcido, who has been on leave from El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, gave no indication he would resign from the council.

A recall effort is underway, reports CBS Los Angeles.

And here's the video of his ongoing war with common sense, factual accuracy and an electorate that would prefer he move somewhere else:

To hell with resignation, fire the sob!!!!!!!!!

There is just no way this person should be allowed to teach any child. His statements are the low of the lowest. Maybe he should move to another country that feels his way, but not in America.

This guy has NO class whatever and will hang on because no one has the stones to fire him.

Would anyone of us be here today if not for our military. Maybe so but what language would we be speaking. Because of our military he can preach his vile remarks. Thank you to all past and present Veterans. Don.

This moron is proof that a college degree does not necessarily convey intelligence...

He's lucky he's in America. Anywhere else in the world he would be shot on site.

He's lucky he's in America. Anywhere else in the world he would be shot on site.

HE'S A CITY COUNCILMAN WHO HAS VIOLATED HIS OATH OF OFFICE. THAT IS SUFFICIENT CAUSE TO DISMISS HIM! A COUNCILMEMBER OF A LOW-LEVEL POLITICAL SUBDIVISION (PICO RIVERA), HE IS USING HIS BLASPHEMY OF THE MILITARY TO GAIN FREE PUBLICITY FOR HIS FUTURE (AGENDA) TOWARD HIGHER ELECTED OFFICES. HE CAN BE EASILY DISMISSED IMMEDIATELY. BUT, NOT LIKELY TO HAPPEN SINCE ALL OTHER COUNCILPERSONS HAVE LIKE ASPIRATIONS OF THEIR OWN. NONE WANT TO WIELD THE AXE AS IT COULD BE ADVERSE TO THEIR FUTURE(S).

If the rest of the City Council had any stones they would vote to impeach the dirt bag. However as far as the teaching position goes he is probably a member of the left leaning liberal teachers union which will most likely will spend Boo Coo bucks defending this low life. Time for this "Number 10 teacher" too go Dee Dee Mou.[to another country]

It wasn't immediately clear whether or not Councilman Salcido has yet been terminated from his teaching job, let alone been pressured to do the right thing -resign from his position on the Pico Riviera City Council in this current open confrontation. Number !; I'd immediately terminate his Teaching Certificate if I had any authority in the State of California or County jurisdiction over him. Number 2; "Mr. Salcido, if you wish to continue sitting there on the City Council, do you wish to endure being ignored and perhaps being considered 'out-of-order' on any matter considered by the Council for the remainder of your tenure". I say, "good luck" and "good riddance, sir". One question, "Do you have ANY idea of how many modern, PERHAPS disadvantaged young people -in getting their career start in life- went all the way to the top of our Military command structure and civilian leadership- simply by being able to apply themselves in ROTC and the various military academies? Ever heard about folks like, General Colin Powell, or how about General Creighton ABRAMS? Do the right thing and quit!

A successful recall is better than a resignation.

Mr. Salcido is a perfect example of people who are educated, but, not necesarilly intelligent. Many of my friends in the military my not have had PHDs, but, they certainly were more intelligent.

I enlisted in the USAF just out of High School in 1951, Basic in Texas, Electronic and Radar Training in Mississippi, then duty in Nebraska. Started the Aviation Cadet Program January 1954 and finished in April 1955. Flew mostly Transports until retiring after 20 years. Received College Degree through the Boot Strap program. Worked with members of all services. I thank God and the People I worked with I never met anyone he describes.
