60 Minutes: Marcus Luttrell, Survivor

Back in 2007-2008 I did a couple of events with Marcus Luttrell and a few others from the War on Terrorism (most notably, my good friend David Bellavia.)  Marcus and I tended to gravitate towards the back when we were on various stages, and so I got to talk to him a bit while the events were going on.  I was actually on Quick Reaction Force at Bagram while he was running around trying to get away.  Anyway, he was always very gracious, and agreed to meet the girls from my law school to sign books after the events.  I haven't seen him since, but I always was impressed with him for a number of reasons, not least of which was his humble Texas nature.

Last night's 60 Minutes shows some of that demeanor:

I'm pretty eager to see the movie when it comes out.  I'm not sure how a guy from Boston (Mark Wahlberg) will do playing a guy from Texas, but I can't wait.
