homecoming_w_dogs Man's Best Friends (tissue warning to dog lovers) Not all the family members we leave at home can talk to us on the phone. I remember when I deployed the first time...I said goodbye to my family, no problems. I said goodbye to my girlfriend, no problem. I said goodbye to my dog and completely lost it. My girlfriend cried herself into the fetal position, and I drove for 3 hours on I95 unabashedly crying. That first night back, I played with my girl all night long. I'm glad Joe got this reception from his other family members as well. H/t to my former Landlady.
